Creamy Citrus Matcha Smoothie
(Recipe adapted from Elaine Gordon)
My husband really, really loved this creamy smoothie with dates, citrus, matcha and a slightly nutty flavor. He’s very picky when it comes to smoothies, so coming from him, this was high praise!
Personally, I love anything with dates in it and knowing that every ingredient in this smoothie packs a high nutrient punch means a lot to me!
Recently, I have started incorporating dates into lots of our meals. Besides dietary fiber, these stone fruits contain zinc, copper, magnesium, manganese, vitamin B6, niacin, calcium, iron and vitamin K. A true nutrient powerhouse!
Hemp hearts provide calcium (for strong bones), magnesium (for heart health), zinc (for immunity), B vitamins (for energy and mood), Omega-3 fatty acids (for heart, eye and brain health) and antioxidants such as vitamin E and beta-carotene.
Shaklee’s Green Matcha Energizing Tea provides a a natural way to help enhance energy and alertness and delivers a high dose of antioxidants as well.
Besides adding lots of nutrients, Avocado (folate, vitamins E, C, and B6) and Brazil nuts (magnesium, copper, selenium, phosphorus, manganese, vitamin E and thiamin) add a welcomed creaminess to this smoothie.
Bonus: this very nutritious meal takes only a few minutes to fix!
